I picked up this beauty today. The perfectly imperfect Pompano.

I cannot say enough great things about Josh Phares and his artwork. He just gets me. This is just another example of the amazing work that this dude is putting out of Jacksonville Beach Florida.

If you are thinking of a custom piece or just want a really cool piece of art, you must check him out! Keeping it local in the 904 is what I’m all about and Josh Phares Art does not disappoint. Check out his website for more information!

P.S. His soul is amazing, his family is amazing, and he’s doing great things in the Jacksonville Florida community as well. Follow him on Instagram @joshpharesart and his equally talented better half @saltwarer.and.silver

Personal Best Catfish in Florida

Catfish are considered trash fish but I am a Southern girl and know they are good eating! Today, I’m pretty sure, I caught my personal best Sailcat (ocean catfish) at Fort Clinch State Park on Amelia Island. The fishing conditions were not great as storms were rolling through Northeast Florida all day and even though I love an adrenaline rush, lightning is serious so we packed up quickly. Nonetheless, a bad day of fishing is better than a good day at work!

What: Sailcat, Whiting, Crocker, Sand Trout?
Water Color: DIRTY

Surf Fishing In The Storm

Fair weather never made a seasoned angler.

Conditions were less than ideal today with the rain and storms but with a stressful work week approaching, we decided to go for it! Although the fishing was not stellar, the vitamin sea and ocean breeze was exactly what the doctor ordered to prepare for the week ahead.

What: Whiting and Ladyfish

Winds: NE at 10-12 mph

Bucket List Fish

August 15, 2020

Today is the day I told myself. As I stood at the shoreline looking out over the ocean at Fort Clinch State Park on Amelia Island, I could feel the energy in the water. The tarpon were dancing through huge schools of bait and putting on a show.

For me, it was more than just a show; today was the beginning of a love affair with this bucket list fish. While I have hooked up with tarpon, and helped fight/land tarpon, I had never received the badge of honor. Every angler dreams of the day they catch, fight, and successfully release this majestic creature. Today was my day.

From hooked up to release, I will cherish every second of this epic catch!
